The National Motor Freight Traffic Association’s (NMFTA) held yet another cybersecurity webinar in its series, Five Simple Things to Improve API Security. The webinar was held from 1:00-2:00 pm ET on Thursday, January 25, 2024. Registration was complimentary.


Dr. Josiah Carlson, CTO of Liminal Network, startup veteran and author of Redis in Action, and Hillary Drake, CEO of Liminal Network, talked about five simple ways to improve your API security. Josiah discussed trends he’s seen implementing logistics APIs and in the broader tech community – attendees come out with actionable ideas and building blocks for your next IT business case. 

Meet Your Speakers

Hillary Drake is CEO and co-founder of Liminal Network. Hillary has over twenty years of experience in logistics working for manufacturers, resellers, and service providers. She is passionate about creating practical solutions to real-world problems.

Based in Minneapolis, Hillary holds an MBA from the University of Minnesota and Bachelor of Arts from Macalester College.

Dr. Josiah Carlson, Ph.D., is CTO and co-founder of Liminal Network. As a serial entrepreneur, Josiah has built secure systems to scale for GPS navigation, online social video, business finance, internet security services, abuse prevention systems, and California’s Covid response. Josiah is also the author of Redis in Action, available since 2012.

Based in Los Angeles, Dr. Josiah Carlson holds an M.S. and Ph.D. from UC Irvine, and a Bachelor of Arts from Macalester College.

Antwan Banks is an accomplished cybersecurity professional with extensive experience in various high-profile roles. He is the director of enterprise security for the National Motor Freight Traffic Association (NMFTA), and plays a pivotal role in educating the trucking and supply chain industry about the intricate security risks associated with truck and enterprise networks. He serves as a key liaison between vendors, engineers, and NMFTA members to enhance the industry’s overall security posture.
