As the leader in LTL freight classification and trucking cybersecurity, NMFTA starts 2025 strong by securing speaking opportunities at industry conferences
The National Motor Freight Traffic Association, Inc. (NMFTA)™ is proud to announce that its subject matter experts will be speaking at several industry conferences throughout the year. These engagements highlight NMFTA’s ongoing commitment to advancing cybersecurity, less-than-truckload (LTL) freight classification, and supply chain security through thought leadership and education.
By participating in these events, NMFTA aims to foster collaboration, share critical insights, and drive discussions that will shape the future of freight transportation and logistics.
Below is a list of upcoming conferences where NMFTA representatives will be presenting:
NMFTA 2025 Spring Meeting (March 2-5): NMFTA will be hosting three days of meetings and social activities offering many forums for discussion of issues important to the LTL motor carrier industry in Clearwater Beach, FL. National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC®) changes and Docket 2025-1 will be discussed at length. For the first time, the ClassIT+™ booth will be on display throughout the event.
Transportation & Logistics Council (T&LC) Annual Conference (March 19): Keith Peterson, director of operations for NMFTA, will address T&LC attendees during the Update – The New NMFC and LTL Pricing panel discussion set for 8:30 am CT.
TIA Capital Ideas Conference (April 10-11): Both NMFTA’s classification and cybersecurity team have secured panel discussions during this conference. NMFTA’s Keith Peterson, alongside Mark Davis, vice president of pricing and traffic for Averitt Express, and James Bentley, director of LTL for Schneider Transportation Management, will share insights during Shipping LTL: Navigating 2025 NMFC Changes & Tools session at 10:00 am CT on April 11. Secondly, NMFTA’s cybersecurity team, Joe Ohr and Ben Wilkens, and TIA member, Johanson Transportation Service’s Steve Hankel, will address attendees during the High-Tech Heists: The New Threat to Cargo Theft session at 11:00 am CT on April 10.
Transportation Revenue Management Council (April 29): NMFTA’s Keith Peterson will present during the Navigating the 2025 NMFC Revisions: What You Need to Know session set for the morning of April 29.
National Private Truck Council (May 11-13): NMFTA’s Joe Ohr and a member of the NPTC will delve into cybersecurity risks that private fleets must be aware of, from safeguarding routing systems to securing on-board technologies, private fleets face unique vulnerabilities that can put their assets and operational systems at risk.
Home Delivery World (May 22): Both NMFTA’s classification and cybersecurity team have secured panel discussions during this conference and the association has secured a booth in the exhibition hall to talk NMFC changes and ClassIT+® with attendees. The sessions include:
- Keith Peterson and Holly Taylor, director of product, for NMFTA and Josh Delay, vice president of business development, for J.B. Hunt Final Mile, will speak during the LTL Freight Classification and Packaging: What You Need to Know About NMFC Changes discussion at 1:20 pm ET on May 22.
- Joe Ohr and Ben Wilkens for NMFTA, and Susan Kargel, owner/principal consultant for SJKargel Consulting LLC, will speak during the Supply Chain Cybersecurity and the Importance of Business Continuity session at 12:00 pm ET on May 22.
NMFTA 2025 Summer Meeting (June 1-3): NMFTA will be hosting three days of meetings and social activities offering many forums for discussion of issues important to the LTL motor carrier industry in Kansas City, MO. The NMFTA classification team will be on-site to address attendees.
WERC 2025 Annual Conference (June 10): NMFTA’s Keith Peterson will facilitate a peer-to-peer group discussion, LTL Freight Classification and Packaging: Discover NMFC Changes Coming in 2025, at 8:30 am ET on June 10.
SMC3 Connections (June 23-25): NMFTA’s classification team will update attendees on enhancements to the NMFC system and Docket 2025-2, as well as showcase its ClassIT+ product.
2025 Jarrett Supply Chain Summit (August 6-7): NMFTA’s Keith Peterson and Adam Mercer, classification development manager, will dive into ongoing NMFC changes that will continue to impact those who ship LTL freight.
