Less-than-truckload (LTL) Packaging Education connects accredited Packaging departments with NMFTA-authored educational resources and industry expertise—without requiring ClassIT+® access.

Bring freight standards into the conversation and help students understand how packaging decisions translate from the classroom to transportation.

Turn Industry Knowledge Into Classroom Learning.

Packaging plays a critical role in how freight moves.

Packaging Standards Education gives faculty another way to connect academic instruction with the standards, practices, and real-world considerations affecting LTL transportation.

Through resources and access to NMFTA subject matter experts, departments can give students greater context around the role packaging plays across the freight lifecycle.

Learn from the Organization Behind the Standards

The National Motor Freight Traffic Association, Inc.® (NMFTA)® has helped define the standards that move freight since 1956.

That expertise extends beyond maintaining the National Motor Freight Classification® (NMFC®). NMFTA conducts packaging research, develops educational resources, and works directly with freight professionals to better understand how packaging performs in the LTL environment.

Packaging Standards Education brings that knowledge closer to the classroom.

Bring an Industry Perspective Into Your Classroom

Give students the opportunity to learn directly from professionals working with freight standards, classification, packaging research, and LTL transportation.

Participating departments can request an NMFTA subject matter expert to complement classroom instruction with practical industry context.

ClassIT+: A Tool for Teaching the NMFC

ClassIT+ is an important resource that allows students to put their understanding of fundamental NMFC and freight classification concepts into practical application.

ClassIT+ provides digital access to current NMFC Data, giving professors a meaningful way to demonstrate freight classification and allowing students to explore the NMFC in a professional platform.

Instead of learning classification only through static examples, students can see how NMFC information is organized, researched, and applied.
