The Freight Classification Development Center (FCDC) is posting certain classification proposals before they are placed on a public docket. These proposals are still in development, and no docket assignment, review date, or final action has been determined.
At this stage, we do not know which docket, if any, a proposal may appear on.
The purpose of sharing these proposals early is to give the public, including carriers, shippers, LTL packaging professionals, and others who work with classification, an opportunity to review the content and provide feedback before the formal docket process begins.
This early input helps the FCDC better understand practical industry concerns, operational impacts, and potential areas for clarification or improvement.
By posting proposals in advance, the FCDC is working to increase transparency, encourage broader participation, and allow additional industry feedback to inform the development of proposals before they move forward. Your input is critical.
