Honored by MPI Potomac Chapter at Evening of the Stars 

The National Motor Freight Traffic Association, Inc. (NMFTA)™ is proud to announce that Lily Eghtessad, events and membership specialist, has been named the 2025 Planner of the Year by the MPI Potomac Chapter. She received the award Wednesday evening at the chapter’s prestigious Evening of the Stars Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony, held at The Watergate Hotel in Washington, DC. 

The Planner of the Year Award recognizes a planner member who has made significant contributions to their organization and the meetings and events industry, demonstrating leadership, inspiration, and a commitment to motivating others to excel within the planner community. 

“This year’s honoree has been a remarkable leader, managing a monthly chapter project with proactive collaboration and clear, transparent communication across our community,” shared Tania Kasongo on behalf of the MPI Potomac Chapter leadership during the awards presentation. 

“Seeing Lily recognized as Planner of the Year is incredibly gratifying and a true reflection of the impact she makes on our team and the broader community,” said Keith Peterson, vice president of operations for NMFTA.  

“Lily’s innate attention to detail and her natural talents make her extraordinarily well-suited for event planning,” added Erin Carter, director of events and membership for NMFTA. “I am thrilled to see her receiving this prestigious recognition from leaders in the planner community—it is so well deserved.” 

Eghtessad’s win highlights her commitment to excellence in the meetings and events profession and her continued service to MPI Potomac Chapter through volunteer leadership and community engagement.
