The National Motor Freight Traffic Association, Inc.® (NMFTA)® has announced that its ClassIT+ platform has been named a Gold Stevie® Award winner in the Transportation Product & Service category in the 2026 American Business Awards®. The American Business Awards are the nation’s premier business awards program, recognizing excellence across industries and organizations of all sizes.

Launched in July 2025, ClassIT+ is NMFTA’s next-generation less-than-truckload (LTL) freight classification platform, built to modernize how the industry accesses and applies the National Motor Freight Classification® (NMFC)®.

Trucking is critical infrastructure, supporting the daily movement of essential goods including food, pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, and consumer products. ClassIT+ plays a vital role in helping ensure those goods move efficiently.

Within the first three months of launch, ClassIT+ achieved 95% migration from legacy users, while driving 25% year-over-year subscription growth. Adoption of NMFC data integration also accelerated, with 68 motor carriers, third-party logistics providers (3PLs), and technology providers embedding ClassIT+ into their systems.

“We rebuilt the platform from the ground up to reflect how modern transportation professionals work today—faster, more connected, and increasingly digital,” shared Joe Ohr, chief operations and technical officer. “This recognition underscores the importance of investing in infrastructure that supports efficiency, accuracy, and reliability in LTL freight movement.”

Enhanced search functionality, intuitive navigation, and structured data presentation help reduce classification errors, streamline operations, and minimize disputes, driving the platform’s recognition as a Gold Stevie Award winner.

More than 230 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process to select this year’s winners. Here are a few comments they shared about NMFTA’s submission:

  • “NMFTA has taken a simple solution to a complex problem and standardization of interaction between freight providers is the right thing to do in the industry that is traditionally decentralized.”
  • “Strong modernization of critical transportation infrastructure with clear user adoption and measurable efficiency gains.”
  • “The ClassIT+ adoption numbers are reflective of good customer reception and improvement relative to existing product.”
