Last Call: Limited Space Remains for the Trucking Industry’s Only In-Person Cybersecurity Conference

NMFTA Cyber - October 16, 2025

At the upcoming NMFTA Cybersecurity Conference (October 26-28 in Austin, TX), attendees will find ample opportunity to sharpen their security mindset and build practical skills. Three standout sessions promise to deliver both insight and hands-on learning:

1. Hacking the Human Firewall: Insights from Social Engineering Corporations

11:30 am-12:00 pm CT on Monday, October 27
Even the most sophisticated technical defenses can be undermined by human vulnerabilities. In this session, Malleum’s Ahmed Shah will walk through real-world social engineering campaigns—covering Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT), phishing, phone impersonation, and physical security tactics. Attendees will gain practical tips to strengthen their “human firewall” and better detect and resist manipulative attack strategies.

2. A Qualitative Study of the Trucking Industry’s Phishing Awareness Training Method

1:15-1:45 pm CT on Monday, October 27
This research-oriented session explores how trucking companies design, deliver, and evaluate phishing awareness training—and how employees perceive it. Langer Transport’s Jonathan Dalia, Ph.D., will present data and qualitative feedback that reveal training gaps, challenges in engagement, and possible improvements. If you’re responsible for awareness programs or training strategy, this session offers a data-driven lens into what’s working (or not) in the field.

3. Hands-On Session: Risk Registers and Tabletops

10:30 am-12:00 pm CT on Tuesday, October 28
This extended, interactive session carried out by NMFTA cybersecurity professionals is designed for attendees who want to build real-world capabilities. First, participants will walk through constructing a business risk register across operations. Then, they’ll use that register to design tabletop exercises—moving from conceptual threats to concrete response rehearsals. The session is ideal for business leaders, security leads, risk managers, and operations staff focused on business continuity and strengthening resilience.

As we prepare to host attendees later this month, the event is made possible by our sponsors:

— Platinum: IT ArchiTeks and VicOne
— Gold: Samsara and ThreatLocker
— Bronze: Ntriety and Vilogics

Thank you, sponsors, for helping make this year’s conference possible. Your support fuels critical conversations and hands-on learning that strengthen cybersecurity across the trucking and supply chain industries.

There’s still time to register your team: www.nmftacyber.com. Registration is only $349 for NMFTA members (yes, you read that right). This cost includes access to: all sessions, the latest trucking cybersecurity research, and program meals. For NMFTA non-members (excluding vendors/industry suppliers), the cost for the same access is $399.
