Timely AMS launch aligns with broader efforts to digitize and safeguard the trucking industry
On Wednesday, May 15, 2025, the National Motor Freight Traffic Association, Inc. (NMFTA)™ officially launched its first-ever association management system (AMS)—a long-anticipated member portal that brings a modern, streamlined digital experience to NMFTA members for the very first time. Welcome myNMFTA.
This is a milestone moment in NMFTA’s history and a major step forward in fulfilling NMFTA’s mission to digitize and safeguard the trucking industry.
Whether you’re a Classification Resource Committee (CRC) member, a National Motor Freight Classification® (NMFC®) participant, or someone who regularly attends NMFTA meetings, the new myNMFTA portal is built to give you easier access, more control, and a better experience at every level.
“This is our first member system of its kind,” said Erin Carter, director of events and membership for NMFTA. “It marks a new era of engagement—one where our members can take ownership of their relationship with NMFTA and do more online, on their own terms.”
Why Now?
Until now, NMFTA has relied on manual processes, spreadsheets, and multiple systems to manage member information, event registrations, and subscriber data. That worked for a time—but as the industry evolved and member needs increased, it was time to modernize.
“As we grow, we want to make it as easy as possible for members to connect with us, find the information they need, and manage their experience with NMFTA,” said Debbie Sparks, executive director for NMFTA. “The AMS is a foundational part of how we’ll serve members going forward.”
This launch is also part of a much larger transformation. It aligns with NMFTA’s other recent and ongoing initiatives, including:
- The launch of ClassIT+™, the next-generation freight classification platform.
- The formation of the Digital Standards Development Council (DSDC)™, driving innovation in both the LTL and FTL sectors.
- Continuing leadership in trucking cybersecurity, including industry-leading research and the annual cybersecurity conference.
What Is an AMS, Anyway?
An association management system (AMS) is the centralized platform associations use to help members manage their account, contact information, and access to resources.
For NMFTA, this means offering something brand new:
- A secure login using your email;
- A personalized member dashboard;
- Online access to your profile and organization’s information;
- Easier access to NMFC, Standard Carrier Alpha Code (SCAC®), classification updates; and more.
It also means less friction, fewer emails back and forth, and a more modern digital relationship between NMFTA and the members who power its mission.
What You Can Do in the New Portal
Starting May 15, members will be able to:
- Set a password and log in securely;
- View and update their individual profile;
- Manage organization contacts, roles, enter revenue, and automatically generate and pay membership invoices (for organization administrators); and
- Access meeting materials and event history.
The new system is designed to streamline interactions and improve efficiency for those who engage with NMFTA on a regular basis.
How to Get Started
Starting May 15, primary member contacts will receive instructions on how to log in for the first time. You’ll simply use your email address to reset your password and verify your information. Once this initial rollout is complete and tested, access will be expanded to additional contacts.
Member-First Technology, Built for the Future
This launch is just the beginning. The new AMS opens the door for more member features in the months to come—like easier renewals, event registration and event history tracking, and customized communication preferences.
“We see this as a launchpad,” said Carter. “With the AMS in place, we can keep adding tools and self-service features that our members have been asking for.”
“It’s an investment in the future of how we serve the freight transportation industry,” added Sparks. “From classification to cybersecurity, everything we do starts with our members—and this platform brings them to the center.”
