SUMMARY:Risks on the Road: What Trucking Companies Need to Know About Chinese-Made Technology
DESCRIPTION:On August 14\, 2025\, the National Motor Freight Traffic Association (NMFTA)™ cybersecurity team presented Risks on the Road: What Trucking Companies Need to Know About Chinese-Made Technology. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nAccess Recording\n\n\n\n\nDescription\n\n\n\nAs Chinese-manufactured hardware becomes increasingly embedded in U.S. transportation infrastructure\, many trucking companies remain unaware of the cybersecurity and operational vulnerabilities that come with it. This eye-opening webinar will deliver a clear and actionable overview of the business risks associated with components such as EV batteries\, routers\, surveillance cameras\, and IoT devices sourced from Chinese manufacturers. \n\n\n\nThrough real-world case studies and expert analysis\, participants will gain an understanding of how these technologies can expose critical fleet data\, operational movements\, and even physical cargo to potential surveillance or cyberattack. We’ll also explore how both physical and digital espionage campaigns are strategically targeting the transportation sector as part of broader geopolitical objectives. \n\n\n\nLearning Outcomes: \n\n\n\n\nUnderstand the specific cybersecurity threats linked to Chinese-manufactured hardware in fleet operations.\n\n\n\nIdentify how compromised components can leak data on vehicle locations\, driver habits\, and cargo routes.\n\n\n\nRecognize the tactics and objectives behind Chinese espionage efforts targeting U.S. transportation sectors.\n\n\n\nLearn from real-world examples of cyber vulnerabilities and incidents within the trucking industry.\n\n\n\nGain practical strategies to assess your organization’s exposure and make informed decisions on procurement and network security.\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMeet Your Speakers\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArtie Crawford\, CISSP\, CISM is the Director of Cybersecurity at the National Motor Freight Traffic Association\, Inc.
